In addition to killing five of its bubble shows, FOX has also picked up a four new ones.

First, we have The New Girl, which stars Zooey Deschanel, who is joining her sister Emily Deschanel (Bones) on FOX. The New Girl follows an elementary school teacher down on her luck in love, who decides to move in with three rowdy guys, and as a result away from her former boyfriend.

The series also stars Jake M. Johnson, Max Greenfield, Hannah Simone and Damon Wayans Jr. (although this last one will depend on whether or not ABC’s comedy Happy Endings gets renewed).

Second is Finder, aka the Bones spinoff from Hart Hanson, based on The Locator series of books by Richard Greener. Fans of Bones already got a preview of the show earlier this season. The series stars Geoff Stults as Walter Sherman, a former Iraqi soldier with an uncanny gift to unearth anyone and anything. Michael Clarke Duncan also stars.

Third, we have Alcatraz from J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk, Liz Sarnoff. The crime drama follows a team of FBI agents investigating the mystery behind the disappearance of a group Alcatraz prisoners in the 1960s who suddenly appear in the present. The series stars Jason Butler Harner, Jonny Coyne, Jorge Garcia, Parminder Nagra, Robert Forster, Sam Neill, Santiago Cabrera and Sarah Jones.

And fourth, we have I Hate My Teenage Daughter in which two divorced women (Jaime Pressly and Katie Finneran), who, after getting picked on by mean girls in high school, realize to their horror that their daughters turned into the same type of girls they hated.

And that’s all for now. I personally am especially curious about Alcatraz, it sounds really intriguing. I also think The New Girl and I Hate My Teenage Daughter both sound fun. Can’t wait to see more from all these shows.

What do you say? Any of these new shows sound interesting?
