BREAKING IN “Take the Movie and Run” Review

BREAKING IN (FOX) Take the Movie and Run

BREAKING IN “Take the Movie and Run” Episode 5 – Oz and his wacky band of merry misfits take on that massive media blitz known as Comic Con when they have to protect a precious copy of Goonies 2 from the teeming hordes. You know, I can remember a time when I used to tell people that my week-long vacation every July was for Comic Con and get met with nothing but puzzled looks. Nowadays it seems like everyone and their dog shows up and multiple television shows are being set there.

Not that I mind though, I was giggling through this whole episode. From the prank war that started with Cash gluing Cameron’s chair to his ass and moved to Cameron sending an orgy to Cash’s house, to all the hysterical and nerd-tastic jokes, this show proved to me once again that it is only going to keep on getting better.

My favorite bits..

Cash claiming that he and his friend were going to have a Potter weekend and watch Hermione blossom in wizardhood…but not in a creepy way.

Cash and Cameron watching Dutch eat that donut.

Oz declaring that their client was going to be screening Goonies 2 to “one hundred lucky virgins.”

Cash experiencing a nergasm. And having my own nerdgasm at the fact that he said nerdgasm.

Dutch suggesting that they should hide the DVD behind a bra clasp so the nerds couldn’t get to it. Bwahaha!

Cash putting his magic camp skills to use and nearly getting away with snatching that DVD.

Oh dear, I think it might be time to admit that I’ve only seen parts of the Goonies. Does this mean I have to give up my nerd badge?

Finding out that Oz learned how to avoid having his image show up on film from a Zulu shaman.

Cameron screaming that his chair had his ass in sheer panic-mode.

Cameron and Cash getting into a massive prank war than ended with Melanie under Cameron’s desk while he was suffering from the boner pills Cash gave him. LOL.

Oz spotting Cameron’s little….erm…..problem and ordering him to save that excitement for Comic Con.

Josh in that Avatar get-up.

Okay I’ll have to admit that it took me a second to get it, but I did eventually laugh my ass off when I realized that Dutch was holding up a Superman t-shirt. LOL!

Oz ordering Cameron to “make like a pair of ta-tas and bounce.”

Cameron opening the wall on Cash’s house.

Melanie telling Josh to smurf off.

Cash warning Cameron not to do the Truffle Shuffle unless he really meant it.

Dutch not only tearing up at Cameron doing the Truffle Shuffle, but also wearing his Superman shirt while he did it.

Loving Cash’s DERP shirt.

Dutch’s face getting more and more disgusting, while simultaneously getting more and more hilarious.

Yes! This proves that I am NOT crazy. They are indeed working in references to Christian’s movies and tonight it was Broken Arrow. Nice!

Oz announcing that if he had a tail, he’d be wagging it.

Cameron taking Cash up on his offer for a Potter-thon. Aw.

I forgot to set the machine to tape this show last night, so thank goodness it was available online – bless the networks that get it and do this!!

Ok, I have to admit to not seeing Goonies – please don’t take my nerd badge. And, I need some help what is DERP? I’ve been trying to figure that out since I saw it!

It is the little touches to this show that really get me – Cash’s “house” – the decor was inspired… I want it!!

I have to say I’m loving the number of shows that are including sci fi conventions in their plots – Hawaii Five-0 did it too and it gives me that fan girl thrill….. LOL…..

I so love this show, but then I have said that before. 😎

Yay for getting to watch it even with DVR troubles!

Ah yes, well I admit that I had to look up “derp” myself as it sounded familiar but I couldn’t remember why. According to the Urban dictionary… Derp is:
A simple, undefined reply when an ignorant comment or action is made. Brought to life in the South Park series, when Mr. Derp made a guest apperance at South Park Elementary as the chef for a day, followed by hitting himself in the head with a hammer and exclaiming “Derp!”
Yes! Hawaii Five-0 was exactly the other show I was thinking about and it gave me a fangirl thrill to see a sci fi convention there too.

Wow -thanks for the definition – sad to say I know of many instances I can use it for now…..

Trying to think of where else I have seen conventions, there is the infamous CSI episode, and the Supernatural one, I think there was also a NCIS one, not including their Halloween episode.

  • Moki and Pat – You HAVE to watch The Goonies, at least just to say you saw it, plus it’s an AWESOME movie and I think it stands test of time.

I’ll give you a grace period to reclaim that nerd badge, how about it?

Plus imagine watching the movie and then rewatching this episode, it would give it a whole new meaning 🙂

You’re on…. now I just need to figure out how to get it since we let our Blockbuster membership lapse….. 8-(

Alright Sandie, I guess I’ll have to add it to my Netflix list. I need to reclaim my nerd badge. LOL.

      • Yes! Well, it has to be playing somewhere on TV. But you know what, because this is so outrageous, we might have to do a giveaway to remedy this, so keep an eye out for it. 🙂

        • Pat

I have it set up in my Locate TV list – we shall see when it comes up. You know, with a bajillion channels, you would think it is playing somewhere…. LOL…. Oh, and I LOVE giveaways….. 😎

I can’t help but wish this was an hour long like Leverage. It’s a great show but I think it goes by too fast. The plots feel too rushed. I wish they showed more of the planning for each case.

I loved all the erection jokes. They were hilarious. I also must admit that I’ve never seen Goonies despite being a complete nerd. I also completely missed the joke Dutch and Superman. His character is so different I almost forget the actor was on Smallville.

Hmm, yeah I guess it could work if this show was an hour long. I doubt they’d be able to keep up the pace if it were an hour though, which would mean maybe some more quiet moments in between the insanity. LOL. I actually wouldn’t mind that.

Yeah Rosenbaum is indeed so different that I sometimes completely forget he was on Smallville too. Loving him so much on this show.
