Grey’s Anatomy’s Lauren Stamile Turns Up Heat on BURN NOTICE

With Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) back in at the CIA, BURN NOTICE is definitely focused on adding operatives to its cast. TV Line reports that Lauren Stamile (Grey’s Anatomy, Community) has landed a major recurring role as a CIA agent for the upcoming fifth season.

Stamile will play Kim Pearce, a “brilliant, unpredictable, and formidable” operative the CIA assigns to investigate the murder of another agent. She will–naturally–look to Michael for help, but will soon learn that Michael might actually be involved in the killing.

It was previously reported that Grant Show would have a three episode arc as a CIA operative, but it’s unclear if his storyline intersects with Stamile’s.

Stamile played Derek Shepherd’s (Patrick Dempsey) short-term girlfriend with an edge (and a scalpel) Nurse Rose on Grey’s Anatomy and Jeff Winger’s (Joel McHale) statistics professor with benefits on Community.

How do you feel about Burn Notice putting so much focus on the CIA? Do you think it will add depth to the show or take away from Sam and Fiona?

The fifth season of Burn Notice premieres Thursday, June 23 at 9pm eastern/8 central.
