MAD LOVE “Pub Quiz” Review

MAD LOVE “Pub Quiz” Season 1 Episode 9 – In this episode Kate talks Connie into joining her at a spa after her back goes out and she starts feeling a little old. But it’s Kate who starts feeling over-the-hill herself when her masseuse calls attention to a little gray hair..on her chin. Yikes. But Connie manages to pull her friend out of the doldrums long enough for the pair to hit the town and go to a club. There they realize that they don’t mind getting old so much, as long as it means they can go to their regular bar and hang out with their regular friends.

Meanwhile Ben and Larry are trying to nab an elusive client who also happens to be a bit of a jerk. I know that the pub quiz thing was stupid but I wasn’t on Ben’s side at all on this one. I was happy when Larry told the guy to stuff it, and happy when Ben did it, too.

My favorite bits..

Larry kindly pointing out that it wasn’t just Connie’s back that was making her feel old, it was her age, too.

Totally knowing the answer to the Fountain of Youth question. Is it wrong that I’m proud of that?

Larry having no problem with the fact that the Nat guy made him miss his mother’s birthday, but the Pub Quiz was a different matter.

Nat referring to Larry and Ben as the Skipper and Gilligan. Ha!

Finding out that Nat had decided to go sans bathing suit in the hot tub.

Connie pointing out to the cute man that he was in fact a guy.

The floating shrimp dish in the hot tub. That was awesome.

Larry’s reaction to watching Nat getting out of the hot tub getting funnier and funnier.

Finally finding out what HTML means. Who knew?

Larry telling Nat off. Good for him. That guy was totally a jerk.

Connie accusing Kate of being too scared to get off the couch. Ha!

Connie giggling when Kate said she needed to shave first.

Ben telling Nat all of Larry’s good qualities, one of which being that he usually wears pants to a meeting…usually.

Finding out that a group of owls is called a parliament? Really? Who knew.

The girls thinking that Ben calling them 20-year-old floozies was sweet, but Larry calling them tramps..not so much.
