SUPERNATURAL “My Heart Will Go On” Review

Supernatural (CW) My Heart Will Go On

SUPERNATURAL “My Heart Will Go On” Season 6 Episode 17 Photos – In this episode Sam and Dean piss off Fate personally. Now on any other show and with any other characters that statement would sound more than a little crazy. On this show that’s pretty much par for the course.

We come upon Sam and Dean in an alternate world where Bobby and Ellen are married and Jo is still alive. It’s all because the Titanic never sank and though Balthazar readily agrees he did it (because he hated the movie), he neglects to tell the boys that he was in fact under Cas’ orders. Cas needed those extra souls for his war but when Fate gets wind of it, she wants to put things right and threatens the lives of Sam and Dean in order to get her way.

And here’s when I knew without a shadow of a doubt that Cas was no longer that same cold-hearted angel he was when we first met him. Because when his friends were threatened – the people he says taught him what it was like to be free – he gives up and lets all those souls go. Wow, talk about a sacrifice.

Finally, I love Ellen and I have to say that a little part of me was kinda hoping they wouldn’t put everything right. She and Bobby were perfect together and I loved seeing him happy. He was still the same old Bobby, but he had someone there to share his life with and it’s too bad that can’t be reality for him or the boys.

My favorite bits..

The completely silent fight, including a game of rock-paper-scissors, over who was going to talk to Bobby.

Cracking up at Dean using the term “poop out his liver.” Yuck, but LOL.

Dean addressing Bobby as “Grumpy.”

A mustang?? Uh oh…Toto, I don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore.

Okay I’m just gonna say it. Bobby and Ellen? Love it!

Is it just me or is Fate being a little ham-fisted in her work? Does everybody on her list have to die like something out of a slapstick comedy or is that because she enjoys a good laugh while she does her job?

Cracking up so hard at everyone not knowing about the Titanic.

First Mate I.P. Freeley. – Need I say more?

Laughing even harder when Balthazar admitted that he saved the Titanic purely because he didn’t like the movie.

Wait. The reason the boys don’t drive an Impala is because THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AN IMPALA?? Okay now *that’s* a sacrilege.

Balthazar describing Cas as “the other angel in a dirty trench coat who’s in love with you.” – Best Description Ever.

Dean calling Sam “Nerd.”

The fact that Bobby knew immediately that Dean was lying when he said that nothing was up.

Really digging those sheets on the boys’ beds in the motel.

I know it was wrong, but I still couldn’t help busting up when the guy got squished by the bus. Hey, Dean thought it was funny, too.

Laughing my arse off at this: Sam: “She looked like a librarian.” Dean: “Your kind of librarian or my kind of librarian?” Sam: “Well she was wearing clothes, if that’s what you mean.”

Loving this so much: Dean: “You need new friends, Cas.” Cas: “I’m trying to save the ones I have, Dean.”

Bobby admitting that he needed Ellen. *sniffles*

Yes! And we have music!! ‘One Way or Another’ by Blondie was the perfect soundtrack for the boys running around trying to tempt Fate.

Balthazar getting about halfway through helpfully offering Fate to help remove that stick from…you know.

Dean asking Sam why he was hacking his dream.

The shock on both the boys’ faces when they realized what Cas had done to keep them safe.

Cas still holding back the last bit of truth from the boys, like how he was the one who ordered Balthazar to go and do it all in the first place.

Dean covering Bobby with that blanket.

The preview for next week’s episode.
