DROP DEAD DIVA is pulling out all the stops for an upcoming episode inspired by the true story of Mississippi teen Constance McMillen, who with her partner was banned from attending prom, due to their sexual orientation. TVSquad.com reports that Lance Bass (former *NSYNC member), Clay Aiken (American Idol alum), and Amanda Bearse (Married with Children) have all signed on to appear in this episode, which will be episode 5 during Drop Dead Diva’s third season.

Bass will play a casting director who wants Fred (Ben Feldman) to be in an energy drink commercial. Aiken will be a witness in one of Grayson’s (Jackson Hurst) cases about a mail-order bride scam. Bearse will play the role of a judge, along with fellow guest-starring judge Wanda Sykes, who will be adjudicating for the fifth episode’s main prom case.

According to EW.com, Kathy Griffin also was just confirmed to appear in episode 8 as Kim’s (Kate Levering) sister. Other previously announced guest stars include Ben Shenkman, LeAnn Rimes, Wendy Williams, Louis Van Amstel, Nick Zano, Mario Lopez, Tony Goldwyn, Jennifer Tilly, Howard Hesseman, and the returning Paula Abdul (another judge, aka Jane’s conscience), Faith Prince, and Sharon Lawrence.

Drop Dead Diva tells the story of a shallow, aspiring model who is killed in a car accident, but finds herself brought back to life in the body of a deceased, brilliant and plus-size attorney, named Jane (Brooke Elliott). Oh the horrors for a model! Deb’s soul gradually begins to “see” things from Jane’s less superficial point of view, while still maintaining many of Deb’s quirks. The show also stars Margaret Cho, April Bowlby, and Josh Stamberg.

Season 3 of Drop Dead Diva premieres June 2011 on Lifetime.
