JUSTIFIED “Debts and Accounts” Review

JUSTIFIED (FX) Debts and Accounts

JUSTIFIED “Debts and Accounts” Season 2 Episode 10 – Once again, there is a whole lot going on in this episode and I’m still reeling for most of it so bear with me while I try and gather my thoughts.

Fir up Mags’ reaction to losing Coover kinda blew me away. Here she was abusing him (both mentally and physically) all this time and then the moment he dies she acts as though he was her favorite? I know that some of her plans to “retire” were already in play before that but it did feel like that, plus losing Loretta, took all of the strength right out of her.

So now there’s a whole new war on the horizon. Boyd is going whole hog into his new life of crime and one of the first things he does is to move out of Ava’s house, not wanting to get her involved. That doesn’t last long though and I was so happy to see those two in each other’s arms by the end.

While Boyd is gathering his old friends around him, Dickie gets wind of what’s going on and starts recruiting a team of his own. This is setting up to be one hell of a fight – Bennetts versus Crowders and there’s no doubt where my loyalty lies.

Meanwhile Raylan is again dealing with a butt-load of crap himself. He’s being pseudo-daddy to Loretta (and doing a bang up job at it), while also coming to grips with the fact that his boss is horribly disappointed in him and trying to mend things with his ex-wife.

Raylan’s solution is to leave it all, take Winona with him and move somewhere else where they can try their hand at living a normal life. I doubt that’s going to happen though, seeing as how Raylan’s unaware of Boyd’s new line of work. The idea of Raylan being able to escape getting involved in that is ridiculous so now I’m just waiting to see what happens when he finds out.

My favorite bits……

Thinking it was sweet that Raylan was more worried about dragging Loretta into the Coover thing than he was about needing her to corroborate what happened.

Art describing Raylan as a lousy Marshal but a good lawman. It sounds like a smackdown, but also like a compliment. Interesting.

Raylan telling Winona that he was sorry for her loss after she tried pulling the “my cell phone died” excuse on him.

Raylan actually asking Winona if she was out of her mind. Ha! I’ve been wanting to ask the same thing myself.

Raylan telling the guys in the car that he was a bit out of sorts after having just shot a man three days before. Yep, that’ll do it.

Raylan telling Loretta that the other girls were going to look at her like she “had a light coming from inside.” Loved that line so much.

Poor Dickie’s brain going into overload when he found out that his momma was not only giving him the weed busines, she wanted him to leave Raylan alone, she blamed him for Coover’s death…oh and she had given the rest of the business to Boyd.

Boyd going to talk to Johnny. Wow.

Ava going in to Boyd’s empty room to sit.

OMG that’s Richard Speight, Jr.! Love him.

Watching how fast Devil decided to go along with Boyd and Johnny.

Loving this line so much: “My name is Boyd Crowder. You can come after me if you want, but it’ll be the last thing you ever do. I can promise you that.”

Raylan realizing that he helped Winona not because he’s a criminal at heart, but because he’s in love with her.

Literally laughing out loud when Dickie walked in and announced to Boyd that whatever deal he had with his momma was done. Ha! Nice try little man, nice try.

Raylan snarkily replying to his incoming backup that, no, he didn’t know what color the building was he was currently taking cover in, but that it was the one with ringing bells.

Really thinking for a second there that the guy was going to get a shot off on Winona, before Raylan plugged him.

Winona agreeing to go to Glencoe. Oh boy.

Absolutely adoring the Boyd/Ava kiss. Though I gotta say that the best part was that it ended in a hug, proving that it was more than about just lust.
