WORKING CLASS Cancelled

You never know how you’re going to learn about a show’s fate these days. CMT apparently decided Facebook would be the best means of delivering the news that its first scripted television show, WORKING CLASS, has been cancelled.

A wall post on the show’s official Facebook page states,

“Unfortunately, CMT will not be pursuing a second season of Working Class. We’re sad to see it go, but you can still catch Melissa Peterman in new episodes of The Singing Bee.”

The sitcom starred Melissa Peterman as a single mom who moves her family to an upscale suburb to give them a better life, while Ed Asner played her cranky co-worker at a grocery store. Working Class just finished its season on April 1.

Producers are reportedly shopping Working Class to other networks, including TV Land.
