NCIS: LOS ANGELES “Rocket Man” Review

NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS) Rocket Man

NCIS: LOS ANGELES “Rocket Man” Season 2 Episode 21 – After nearly two years of watching this show one thing I’ve come to expect is the fact that everyone on this team is pretty much a bad-ass. From Sam to Kensi, there’s no one who can’t handle themselves out in the field.

Well this time I had to worry a bit when Eric finally gets his chance to do some field work. The team’s case literally involves rocket science and they need his brain to get more info on what happened. The poor guy was understandably a bit nervous about going on his first assignment but it turned out that he was mostly nervous about not wanting to hurt anyone. That right there said so much about Eric that I just wanted to hug him on the spot.

And for a nerdy guy who hangs out in a room full of computers all day, it also turns out that he can be pretty darn tough when he needs to be. After nearly getting frelted
(sorry, I just can’t help myself) I admired that Eric decided to stick it out and stay on the job.

Ultimately though, Eric decides that the field isn’t for him, which I think is probably for the best. Not that he did a bad job, but I would miss Eric if he wasn’t backing up the team from his computer room, wearing his shorts and speaking the geek-speak. It was fun to see him out doing something else and I wouldn’t mind if it happened again, but I’m just as happy to have him safe and sound where he belongs.

My favorite bits..

Wondering how Deeks could say that doing his little word puzzle kept his intellect razor sharp if he had to ask everyone else how to spell stuff. Doesn’t that rather defeat the purpose?

Five dogs (big dogs), and no baggies? Eeewww!

Eric waiting for everyone to respond to his “took off” joke. LOL.

Literally laughing out loud when Deeks suggested that the victim’s cell phone had “frelted.” Ha!

Aw, Deeks like jet packs, too? Methinks he and McGee would get along really well.

Nell reassuring Eric that he was going to do great on his assignment.

OMG Eric is wearing pants!! Like, actual long pants. Whoa. My brain cannot compute.

Hetty’s laugh at her own “rocket science” joke.

Finding out that Eric has a shy bladder.

Oh noes! Eric getting caught in the testing chamber. Holy cow!

Deeks knowing that Nell said “frelted.” LOL, I’m so gonna start using that word now.

Not being at all surprised to find out that Deeks has a painting of dogs playing poker in his living room. Now I’m just wondering if it’s painted on velvet or not.

Hetty asking Nell to elaborate on “uh oh.”

Kensi admitting that she still misses her dad every day.

Hetty making sure to point out to Eric how much they appreciated his work..and the fact that he did it all without a weapon. Yay Eric!

Deeks’ continued attempts to get everyone to say frelted.

Nell and Eric’s fist bump before going back to work. Aw.

Loving Callen’s description of how he told Eric a “truth re-imagined for the greater good.” Ha!

Knowing that Sam was so gonna drop that box as soon as he asked Deeks if it was insured.

Another hilarious final blackout moment – Sam’s innocent little “Oops” after dropping Deeks’ box.
