Dollhouse’s Eliza Dushku Joins Damon Wayans in CBS Comedy Pilot

Whedonverse favorite Eliza Dushku may have ultimately passed on TNT’s Bird Dog pilot, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t willing to give a different show a shot. TVLine reports that Dushku is now heading to CBS to star in its untitled sports radio-centered comedy pilot.

In the pilot, which is inspired by ESPN Radio’s Colin Cowherd, Damon Wayans plays the cocky, quick-witted, and likeable sports radio host Nick Herd. Dushku will play Casey, his on-air sidekick. Danny Comden (I’m with Her, Dirt) is also on board, playing the show’s producer.

Confirming the news in a Facebook post, Dushku wrote, “It is with insanest excitement & awesomeness I get to finally fill you guys in: I’ve JUST landed a new CBS comedy pilot w/ my comic idol Mr. Damon Wayans.”

Dushku rose to fame as Faith the vampire slayer in both Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel. She also starred in Tru Calling and Dollhouse and has had recent guest appearances on Ugly Betty and The Big Bang Theory.

Should this pilot and Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Ringer both be ordered to series, there would be two slayers on CBS next fall, which would be pretty darn cool.
