Netflix Will No Longer Stream Current Showtime Shows March 23, 2011 News This summer Showtime’s deal with the streaming company Netflix is up for renewal, and as part of the new deal Showtime will pull their current shows from the Netflix library. Deadline states that shows which are currently airing on Showtime like the hit drama Dexter, will no longer stream instantly. However, shows like Sleeper Cell or The Tudors which are no longer producing new episodes, will still stream for Netflix customers. Showtime CEO Matt Blank stated: “With all the options out there, we want to be sure people know they have to subscribe to see Dexter or The Borgias.” A Showtime spokesperson also stated that current original series “will be available to our authenticated subscribers via our TV Everywhere service Showtime Anytime.” Follow me on Twitter @singmesweet Share this:Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to share on Tumblr (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)
