Christina Applegate to Star in NBC Comedy Pilot

Christina Applegate has picked a pilot for this season. Deadline reports that the actress received about a dozen offers and she has settled on an untitled NBC comedy from Saturday Night Live writer and Parks and Recreation producer Emily Spivey and SNL creator Lorne Michaels.

Applegate will play a caustic working mother who had never intended to have kids, but who now also has a stay at home husband and opinionated parents in this irreverent take on the family comedy.

Applegate will also serve as producer on the project with her manager Eric Kranzler, and if it goes to series, it would be her fourth. She also starred in ABC’s Samantha Who, NBC’s Jesse, and Fox’s Married with Children. She was most recently seen in movie theaters in the Farrelly Brothers’ comedy Hall Pass.
