Brendan Hines to Guest Star on CASTLE

Lie to Me (Fox) - 208_blackfriday_002

Brendan Hines (Lie to Me) is set to play the role of Alex Conrad on CASTLE, TVGuide.com reveals exclusively. The character Alex is “a first-time mystery writer who owes some of his debut novel’s success to a glowing review written by Castle (Nathan Fillion).”

The episode in question has Castle and Beckett investigating the murder of a swimming star. As any good mentor would, Castle invites Alex to the precinct. But Alex is much more interested in what Beckett (Stana Katic) has to say about being a police detective, than any words of wisdom from Castle. Castle is ready to put up his dukes when he sees how “willingly and intimately” Beckett treats the new author as a confidant.

Josie Loren (Make It or Break It) and Justin Bruening (Knight Rider) also appear as guest stars in this episode. Both are treated as murder suspects. Bruening plays the victim’s swimming coach, while Loren plays the victim’s former girlfriend.

Titled “The Dead Pool,” the episode featuring Hines is scheduled to air in April. ABC’s Castle airs Mondays at 10pm. And as an extra bonus, the spring premiere of ABC Family’s Make It or Break It is on March 28 at 9pm.
