CALIFORNICATION “The Trial” Advance Review

CALIFORNICATION “The Trial” Season 4 Episode 10 – Are you planning on watching this weeks episode of Californication? Before I start talking about “The Trial” let’s quickly refresh our memories on what happened last week. Becca sneaks out of the house and totals Hank’s car. Marcy tells Charlie she is pregnant but he does not yet know that the baby is his. Hank spent most of the episode preparing for his court appearance in which he is accused of having sex with a minor.

In “The Trial” witnesses are called to the stand to testify what they know about the relationship between Hank and Mia when Mia was just 16 years old. Mia’s father also makes an appearance (obviously, considering the subject matter) and I don’t think he’s been in an episode since season one? In this episode, a bomb is dropped in the courtroom that could be a severe blow to the defense. Hank is disappointed in the testimony of a friend.

This episode of Californication, as the name indicates, pretty much all takes place in the courtroom where Hank is tried for statutory rape. I’m not going to lie, this is a serious episode and it does get a bit cringy at times. If you are a fan of the show, this is an important episode and you are not going to want to miss it. Prior to “The Trial” Hank’s antics have been taking him to new lows all season (and the seasons prior if we are honest) and for the first time I think we begin to see Hank show some remorse for his actions.

Don’t forget to watch Californication this Sunday on Showtime at 9:00 pm. After you have watched the show, please come back, leave me a comment and let me know what you thought!
