Julianne Moore to Play Sarah Palin in HBO’s GAME CHANGE

Julianne Moore

Four-time Academy Award nominee Julianne Moore will play Sarah Palin in an HBO movie. The Wrap reports that Moore will play the former Alaska governor in an adaptation of John Heilemann and Mark Halperin’s best-selling book GAME CHANGE, about the inner workings of the John McCain and Barack Obama presidential campaigns.

The book is separated into three parts: the first section examines the Democratic primaries, the second delves into the Republican race, and the final chapters focus on the Obama-McCain general election campaign. The roles of Barack Obama, John McCain, and Hilary Clinton have yet to be cast for the film.

Jay Roach will direct Game Change from a Danny Strong script. The two previously worked together on HBO’s Emmy-winning Recount, which examined the 2000 Florida election recount.

Moore was last seen on television playing Nancy Donovan, Jack Donaghy’s (Alec Baldwin) high school crush, on NBC’s 30 Rock.
