BONES “The Killer in the Crosshairs” Review

BONES (FOX) The Killer in the Crosshairs

BONES “The Killer in the Crosshairs” Season 6 Episode 15 – Broadsky is back in this episode and this time he’s handing out his own personal brand of justice. He’s taking out people he considers bad guys, but Booth still has to stop him.

Booth has a bit of a rough time in this episode, thinking that Bones views him in the same light as she does Broadsky. It makes him take a look at himself and he starts to wonder if he couldn’t turn into a rogue sniper someday, too. He and Broadsky worked together, they knew each other, Broadsky was once a good man – all of which is a little to similar for Booth’s liking.

Sweets once again comes to the rescue, pointing out to Booth all the people he has in his life that Broadsky did not and why that means he can’t become what the other man has. Plus, when he finally tells Bones why he doesn’t like the comparison she keeps making, he finds out that she really doesn’t see them the same way at all, which helped even more than Sweets did.

A part of me was happy that Booth didn’t kill Broadsky, not only because I know how much he hates taking lives but also because it means Broadsky will be back. He’s a great foe for Booth and I’m hoping for at least a few more episodes from him.

My favorite bits…

Okay, that’s gotta be one of the most unusual music choices I’ve ever heard on this show.

Booth running up on Bones and the two of them racing. How freaking adorable was that?

Booth pointing out that he would like the lecture because it was about war? Yeah, I don’t think so. Someone wants to spend time with Bones, methinks.

I used to think rats were cute…that is until I watched a bunch of them devour a dead body. Ick.

“You can never have too many cute phrases for taking a human life.” -Funny, I was thinking the exact same thing.

The guitar riff they played when Angela’s dad showed up. Awesome.

Booth asking Hodgins if his face looked like a guessing face.

Angela describing her dad as a “Texas twister.”

Sweets groan when he found out that Angela and Hodgins wanted to talk about her father.

Sweets admitting that he was scared of Angela’s dad. Hey, I’ll admit it, I’m kinda afraid of the guy too and to me he’s just a fictional character on my TV.

Rolling my eyes when Angela suggested that the baby’s name wouldn’t matter to them at all. Well then what about to the kid?

“A hallway in the middle of nowhere.” That kinda sounds like a cool book title.

Broadsky pointing out to Booth that he too thought Paula’s death was his fault. Ouch.

The Super intense conversation between Booth and Broadsky.

Caroline asking Booth why he didn’t kung-fu judo the guy.

Sweets telling Booth that he, unlike Broadsky, was a healthy man and had surrounded himself with family and friends who loved him. All ensuring that he wouldn’t end up like the other sniper.

Whoa, is Cam sporting new hair? I like it!

Hodgins coming to a full stop when he spotted his father-in-law in his lab.

You know, I had a lot of scenarios running through my head for how bad the baby name Angela’s dad wanted, but “Staccato Mamba” wasn’t even on my radar.

Bones getting up all her courage to ask Booth why he was really going to try and shoot Broadsky.

Bones relaying the message to Booth that Caroline’s teeth hurt.

Booth and Bones figuring out that Broadsky was targeting the men’s bathroom.

Bones acting as Booth’s spotter. Whoa.

Booth taking out Broadsky’s weapon. Aha! Brilliant! He got the job done but didn’t kill him, which I know he hates.

Oh no, poor Hodgins. How many times is he gonna wake up with a brand new tattoo and his father-in-law sitting over him?

LOL the little baby hats were very cute and yes, I think daddy totally liked that Hodgins stood up to him.

Hodgins explaining what happened to him in three words – “Tequila.your dad.”

Loving Bones’ explanation of the difference between Broadsky and Booth – “Broadsky bad, Booth good” totally reminds me of “Fire bad, tree pretty” from Buffy.

What did you think of this episode of Bones? Got any favorite bits or least favorite bits of your own? I’d love to hear from you!
