Rachelle Lefevre Lands Lead in THE CROSSING

rachelle lefevre- off the map

NBC’s drama pilot THE CROSSING has chosen Rachelle Lefevre as its female lead. The project is set in a Missouri town during the post-Civil War Reconstruction era. TVLine.com states that the show centers on Jason, “a Civil War soldier who crosses the country and settles into a complicated town where he is welcomed as its savior. Lefevre will play Anna, a war widow who watched helplessly as Union soldiers burned her husband and two little boys alive in their barn.” Anna, who now is living with her five-year-old daughter, falls in love at first sight with Jason and begins a passionate affair with the troubled outsider.

Currently playing Dr. Ryan Clark on ABC’s Off the Map, Lefevre’s casting in The Crossing takes second position to her role in Off the Map. She is still due to appear in future episodes. Off the Map airs on Wednesdays at 10pm.

Off the record: This is either the worst kept spoiler secret, a sign of the impending cancellation of Off the Map, or Lefevre just caused another Twilight snafu. Which would you prefer as an explanation?
