Laura Prepon Cast in ARE YOU THERE VODKA? IT’S ME, CHELSEA

Laura Prepon

Laura Prepon is going to be doing her best Chelsea Handler in a new comedy, according to TVLine.com.

The actress is set to play the title role in ARE YOU THERE VODKA? IT’S ME, CHELSEA. The show, a multicamera comedy pilot for NBC, is inspired by the late night hostess’ autobiographical book of the same name that relates the tumultuous part of her life known as her 20s.

The pilot was written and executive-produced by Dharma & Greg co-creator Dottie Zicklin and Julie Larson, and exec-produced by Handler. The series centers on Chelsea Hanson, a fresh-faced single cocktail waitress who is also highly opinionated and open about her love of drinking and sleeping around.

This isn’t the first time for Prepon in the multicamera comedy genre. The actress made a name for herself playing witty and confident teenager Donna Pinciotti on Fox’s That ’70s Show. After that she co-starred on the ABC drama October Road and has gone on to do some guest stints on several series including How I Met Your Mother and, most recently, Castle.
