CBS Picks Up JJ Abrams’ Drama PERSON OF INTEREST

JJ Abrams

Fans of JJ Abram will be happy to hear that soon we’ll be seeing another series from the Lost creator. According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS has given the greenlight to Abrams’ new drama pilot, PERSON OF INTEREST.

The show is written by The Dark Knight co-writer Jonah Nolan and comes from Warner Bros. TV and Abrams’ Bad Robot. Abrams and Nolan are executive producing with Bad Robot’s Bryan Burk.

The series will follow an ex-CIA hitman and a scientist who team, not to solve crimes, but to prevent them before they happen. It sounds to me like it could be an interesting twist on the very familiar procedurals that crowd primetime these days. The fact that it comes from Abrams only makes it that much more interesting.

Nolan previously wrote Dark Knight with brother Christopher Nolan and also is credited as a writer on The Dark Knight Rises, due out next year.

Person of Interest marks the second pilot order for Bad Robot this season, following Fox’s pickup of Alcatraz.
