OFF THE MAP “I’m Here” Review

OFF THE MAP (ABC) I'm Here

OFF THE MAP “I’m Here” Season 1 Episode 5 – There’s a reason I won’t go see 127 Hours and that’s because I have no desire to see someone amputate their own arm. I’m not saying it’s not a great movie because everything I’ve heard assures me that it is, but I don’t think I could handle it. Watching an amputation happen underwater wasn’t much easier. Then add to that the whole story of Zita removing lovely creepy crawly creatures from a patient’s body and I’m just happy I kept my dinner down while watching this episode.

I did enjoy though how the story of the girl with the amputated leg became more about the relationship between a father and daughter than it did about the horror of performing surgery underwater.

My favorite bits…

Angus offering a Cole a lollipop and asking if he still sucked. LOL!

Cole asking Angus what they would have the honor from removing from his butt. Touche!

Trying to control my gag reflex as Zita pulled larvae out of Angus. Lovely. *gulp*

Mateo showing up and telling Lily that he was embarrassed but he’d been shot, and then promptly passing out.

Man, you know the dad really doesn’t know how to speak to his daughter if Mina is the one writing her notes.

Finding out that it was Cole’s bacon that Zita was putting on Angus. Ooh, another point for Angus.

Sorry but I don’t think puking at the site of your child’s severed leg qualifies one as the worst father ever, despite what Tommy said.

The kiss between Mateo and Lily extremely hot, at least until he came back and nearly collapsed again.

Tommy trying to convince Shannon to look at her leg because the sooner she did, the better.

Mina asking when Lily’s life had become a Spanish soap opera. LOL.

The look on Ben’s face when he saw Lila and Mateo. Ooohhh..do I detect some jealousy there.

Tommy opening up to Shannon about the fact that he hadn’t spoken to his parents in a year and that he was doing everything he did, for them.

Wondering what was up with Ryan and if she knew what was wrong with her.

Mina knowing what it meant for Shannon’s dad to hold her hand.

Angus trying to kiss Zita and her backing off at the last possible second. Oh boy, I’d say that was a final point for Cole.

Mina explaining how she didn’t do the hand-holding thing.

Tommy sending the postcard off to his parents. Aw.

What did you think of this episode of Off The Map? Got any favorite bits or least favorite bits of your own? I’d love to hear from you!
