Hilarie Burton Promoted to Series Regular on WHITE COLLAR

Hilarie Burton - White Collar

Well, those of us who are really enjoying the dynamic between Neal Caffreey and Sara Ellis on WHITE COLLAR are happy to hear this news. According to TVLine.com, USA has just announced that it will be promoting Hilarie Burton to series regular for Season 3.

All the way back when she did her very first White Collar episode, Burton shared her wish for her recurring role to turn into something longterm. As she put it then, series leads Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay “are so sincere in their generosity and their kindness, I’d stay forever, man.”

The actress, who previously called One Tree Hill her home, joined the USA series as an insurance investigator who has threatened to shoot Neal on more than one occasion. But throughout her Season 2 appearances, Sara and Neal have come to a professional understanding. She even joined the “Burke’s Seven” crew for an intricate con in the season premiere.

When Burton joined White Collar, she spoke about the difference between the USA show and Tree Hill, where she cried a lot as poor Peyton was put through numerous emotional wringers. “If you want to see me having a good time and being, you know, clever and quick-witted, this is the place to do it,” she said then of her new gig.

White Collar, which was renewed for Season 3 in the fall, airs Tuesdays at 10 and the second season finale is scheduled for March 8.
