Kathy Griffin to Guest Star on THE DEFENDERS

Kathy Griffin

True fans of Kathy Griffin aren’t going to be the least bit surprised to find out that when the actress makes her guest appearance on THE DEFENDERS she’s going to also do what she does best – offend people.

What? Like you’re surprised? Okay but wait, it’s not exactly what you think. Turns out it’s her character that will be offensive.

According to TVLine.com, the comedian is set to appear in an episode called “Nevada v. Greene.” Griffin will play the role of Sally, a second-rate nightclub comic who gets sued for insulting audience members that have been cherry-picked by her producers. In other words, it sounds to me like she’s basically going to be playing herself and I’m sure she’s gonna add some fun to the show.

The Defenders stars Jim Belushi and Jerry O’Connell and will be debuting in its new Fridays-at-8 time slot this week. Griffin’s episode is tentatively scheduled to air in early March.

Griffin recently made the announcement that she was no longer continuing her Bravo series My Life On The D-List, though she will continue to tape stand-up specials for the network. Recently her acting gigs have included a March 2010 episode of Law & Order: SVU, where she played a lesbian activist.
