FAIRLY LEGAL “Benched” Review

Fairly Legal (USA) Benched

FAIRLY LEGAL “Benched” Season 1 Episode 3 – The main storyline in this week’s episode gave Kate and Judge Nicastro a chance to work together for a bit and I liked it. Here I thought the old judge was just gonna spend every episode sitting at his bench and making life miserable for Kate, albeit in a usually hilarious fashion. Gerald McRaney makes quite a foe for our favorite mediator so it’s nice to see that they can also work as a team sometimes too. I also enjoyed how Kate kept getting the wrong impression about everything that was happening with the coach and that it wasn’t until the end that we knew what was really going on with him, the kid and the dad.

The secondary storyline also gave me more than a few giggles and reminded me once again why I fell in love with Leo in the very first episode. He not only managed to scam his way into getting an iPad, but also got Kate a gift she really loved too. If that’s not talent, I don’t know what is.

My favorite bits..

Kate trying out both answers to the football question, to see which one was right.

Judge Nicastro turning out to have a little bit of a soft side, when it comes to his son.

Leo admitting that he couldn’t even stop someone like the coach in a video game, let alone real life.

Kate saying that her world made sense again once she found out why Lauren wanted to take on Andrew’s case.

Kate telling one of the guys that she was old enough to be his mother’s very, very, young sister.

Kate going off about where the guys were going to put their man shirts and man pants, and of course the pictures of Victoria’s Secret models.

Thinking Kate had a point when she told the coach that if he didn’t like what other people were saying, he should say something back.

Being unable to believe my eyes when the coach hauled off and socked the father in the jaw. Whoa.

The judge asking Kate to aim a little higher than just her best.

Kate correcting Andrew’s assessment of Lauren and replacing his description with words like cold and stiff.

Leo totally figuring out why Justin had asked him out to dinner.

Leo saying that watching Kate and Lauren was like watching “those weird rain forest bird territory dances.”

Cracking up at the fact that each time Leo asked Kate to choose between three items, I had the same pick she did. Weird.

Laughing so hard when Leo said that all of Kate’s answers to his crazy questions added up to her wanting an iPad for her birthday. Okay so does that mean I’ll get one for my b-day in a couple weeks? Hmmm..

The coach remarking how relaxing it was to be sitting on the sidelines, while screaming his heart out at the team. Oh yeah, really relaxing. LOL.

Finding out that Leo got himself the iPad and gave Kate a boat toaster. Have I mentioned recently how much I love Leo? No? Okay well I love Leo. There, I said it.

What did you think of this episode of Fairly Legal? Got any favorite bits or least favorite bits of your own? I’d love to hear from you!
