BURN NOTICE Prequel Casts Chandra West, Kiele Sanchez, John Diehl and RonReaco Lee

Looks like the cast for USA’s BURN NOTICE Prequel is rounding out nicely. According to TVLine.com the casting directors have been busy adding the likes of Chandra West, Kiele Sanchez, John Diehl and RonReaco Lee to the TV movie.

Production is already getting underway in Bogota, Colombia with Burn Notice frontman Jeffrey Donovan in the director’s chair. Starring Bruce Campbell, the telepic is set in 2005, as a faction of Colombian rebels makes trouble for the locally stationed military platoon. Lt. Cmdr. Sam Axe (Campbell) is deployed to check things out and will uncover some dark secrets of the area and, in turn, learn hard lessons about deception and sacrifice.

West (The Gates) is set to play Donna, a sexy and fun woman Sam has recently started seeing. Once the action moves to Colombia, Lee (The Good Guys) turns up as Dr. Ben Delaney, a field medic who runs a non-profit clinic and now finds himself fending off terrorists. Sanchez (Lost) will then join in the fun, playing a humanitarian with a food relief effort who has a hard time trusting soldiers – Sam included.

Lastly, Sam is gonna need someone to report to during the ordeal and that responsibility will fall to John Diehl (Stargate). The actor plays Rear Admiral Lawrence, a no-nonsense Naval Officer who will stop at nothing to get to the bottom of things.

The two-hour movie is due to air on USA Network sometime this spring. Donovan is directing a script written by series creator Matt Nix. Nix, Donovan and Campbell are all serving as executive producers. Meanwhile producer Aaron Ginsburg has been blogging stories, funny anecdotes and photos from the shoot to date.

I don’t know about you, but all of this news makes me one very happy viewer and all I can say is, I can’t wait for spring to get here.

Nice! Love Burn Notice, though my favorite thing about it every week is Bruce. Awesome to hear he’s starring in this, I hadn’t heard about it until now. As a DISH customer and employee I get to see The Mighty Chin every week in awesome HD, and I can’t wait to watch this in the same!
