CALIFORNICATION “Home Sweet Home” Advance Review

CALIFORNICATION “Home Sweet Home” Season 4 Episode 3 – Season 4 of Showtime’s Californication got off to an epic start and for this blog writer, it just keeps getting better. As you might recall from the last episode, Hank got depressed after a failed attempt at reconnecting with his daughter, Becca. So he did what any father would do and popped some pills, had some booze, and began writing a letter to Becca to explain himself. After which, he collapsed on the living room floor. In other news, Charlie and Marcy are still headed for divorce, and Charlie was wasting no time adding some more notches to his bed post (I think the current count is 12?).

In this week’s episode, “Home Sweet Home”, Hank is finally invited back home with Karen and Becca when his overdose is interpreted as a suicide attempt. Charlie puts pressure on Hank to write the script and the movie’s producer, Stewart, meets Mrs. Runkle and likes what he sees. Charlie also learns about the importance of “manscaping”. Lastly, Becca makes friends with The Queens of Dogtown.

As I said before, I am loving this season of Californication. It’s been painful to watch Hank reach rock bottom but it’s also made for some entertaining television. A part of me wishes things would go back to normal with Hank and Karen (and Charlie and Marcy for that matter) but another part of me is enjoying being taken by surprise each episode. I am also curious to see what they do with Becca’s character this season.

What do you think? Are you enjoying Season 4 as much as I am? Don’t forget to check out Californication this Sunday at 9 PM on Showtime. After you watch it please come back, leave me a comment, and let me know what you thought!
