Annie Ilonzeh Cast in CHARLIE’S ANGELS Reboot January 21, 2011 ABC, News Annie Ilonzeh has been cast as one of the three leads in ABC’s CHARLIE’S ANGELS pilot. According to TVLine.com, Ilonzeh will play the character Kate, who is a very smart and athletic ex-cop, as well as a master of martial arts. She is the most serious of the three Angels, but also knows how to let her hair down and have a great time. The project reportedly is a modern version of the original Charlie’s Angels, centering on a new trio of young and sexy private eyes (Kate, Abby and Marisa), who work for a wealthy mystery man in Miami. It will be produced by Sony Pictures TV and Drew Barrymore’s Flower Films. Off the record: I’ve never seen Annie Ilonzeh in anything, except for her current role as Maya Ward on General Hospital. Even then, only with the volume turned down low or in my mind’s eye when I’m reading recaps of the show. She has not made enough of an impression on me to make an opinion. What do you think of Ilonzeh being in the new Charlie’s Angels? Will she do double-duty, or will GH hire a new Maya? Ilonzeh has also recently appeared on HBO’s Entourage and The CW’s Melrose Place. Her film credits include Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and He’s Just Not That Into You.
