pbs iphone app

PBS has announced the release of the iPhone and iPod touch version of their iPad app, which is now available for free(!) at the App Store. The app allows you to create reminders for your favorite shows; access TV times and channels for local PBS programs; and bookmark favorite episodes for easy retrieval. You can even share videos with friends on Facebook, Twitter, and through e-mail. You also have the option to purchase episode and seasons that you’d like to own.

While it doesn’t have as many episodes as you can get from the PBS website, you can watch current and archived segments, previews, and full-length PBS episodes with new content updated daily. There are more than 300 videos of specials, such as Circus; primetime programs, such as Antiques Roadshow, Frontline, History Detectives, Masterpiece, Nature, Need to Know, Nova, and Secrets of the Dead; PBS NewsHour segments; and episodes of original online series, such as “Secret Life of Scientists” from Nova ScienceNOW and “FutureStates” from Independent Lens.

Get it now! With this PBS iPhone app, along with the new Antiques Roadshow game app, you are all set for a wait at the DMV.
