Alfred Molina will Replace Skeet Ulrich on LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES January 13, 2011 Law and Order: Los Angeles, News I’m sure all of you LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES fans have been wondering who is going to replace Skeet Ulrich’s character. Well, according to EW’s Inside TV his replacement will be none other than Alfred Molina. Okay, okay, I know some of you are probably looking at your computer screens right now and saying “Wait, he’s already on the show! And he’s a district attorney! WTH?” Well here’s how it’s all gonna go down. Molina does indeed play D. A. Ricardo Morales, but the show will soon reveal that his character was on the Los Angeles Police Department for 15 years and rightfully earned his detective rank. He will decide to return to the police force after his frustrations as a prosecutor reach a tipping point, causing him to make a change in careers. Other changes are up for Terrence Howard’s character Jonah Dekker. Instead of alternating with Molina’s Morales every other episode, he will now be in every one. Executive producer, Dick Wolf: “We have the fortune of two world class actors on LOLA, and it was frustrating to have one on the bench every week. It would be like having Peyton Manning and Tom Brady as your quarterbacks, playing alternate games.” It was previously revealed that Ulrich, Regina Hall and Megan Boone are set to leave the series, which is currently in the middle of its first season.
