Christine Taylor

Boy, there’s lots of news coming out of TV Land today. According to TVLine.com , a bunch of great comedic actors will be getting some new gigs thanks to the network.

First up, Christine Taylor (The Wedding Singer) has gotten the lead role in TV Land’s untitled Terri Minsky comedy pilot (formerly known as Rip City). The multi-camera project is an office comedy set at a regional beverage manufacturer and distributor in Oregon called Rip City Cola. The show is about a thirtysomething, Ivy League-educated New York woman (Taylor). She takes over the company as the new boss but finds her enthusiasm for the new job dampening when nobody at the new company wants her there and her boyfriend chooses to stay behind in New York.

Meanwhile Kristen Johnston (3rd Rock from the Sun) has landed a lead role of her own in another TV Land comedy pilot, an as yet untitled Mark Reisman project. Donald Faison (Scrubs) will be joining Johnston, also playing a lead in the pilot, which was formerly known as Ex Men. The show will revolve around three divorced guys, one of them to be played by Faison, who all live in the same apartment building. Playing their landlord is Johnston, who won two Emmys for her role on 3rd Rock.

Johnston next stars in the indies Vamps and BFF & Baby. Faison recently co-starred in the movie Skyline.
