TRANSPORTER TV Series to Start Filming Early 2011 December 20, 2010 News According to a report on Deadline.com , the popular movie series The Transporter is about to become a TV series as well. The new Transporter show will be based on the hit movie franchise and shooting on the $48 million 12-part series will start early next year, with the first episodes being delivered early November. French producer Lagardere Entertainment is fully-financing the show, having licensed The Transporter from EuropaCorp. There is apparently a big US broadcaster is already on board with the show, but EuropaCorp isn’t letting any names drop just yet. Jason Statham starred in all three Transporter movies as the driver who delivers anything, anywhere – no questions asked. No word yet on who is set to star in the new series but if they can get anyone with half the energy of Statham, then this could be one hell of a show. It might also be a nice change from all the procedural detective type dramas out there. Not that I mind those shows, in fact I’m addicted to most of them, but I think it could be cool to have something a little different as well. Variety is the spice of life as they say and I’m always up to watch another good series.
