NCIS: LOS ANGELES “Disorder” Review

NCIS: LOS ANGELES “Disorder” Season 2 Episode 11 – Oh how I love it when I get fooled into thinking a story is going one way, only to see it go another. Kensi starts to get close to a man suffering from PTSD who admits to killing two people, apparently in a haze of panic. Her admission that she once had a fiancé with PTSD was a nice glance into her past and, while I didn’t expect her to end up with the guy, I did expect that she might get her heart broken by him. What I didn’t expect was her getting her head bashed in by him instead.

In a way, this kind of reminded me of the episode earlier this year when Callen’s ex-partner and “wife” showed up. I enjoyed the way they turned that story on its head in the end and she turned out to be the bad guy. I guess that should have made me more suspicious of Talbot, but maybe it’s because of the holiday season and all the warm and fuzzy feelings that I have inside these days but I didn’t think to suspect him as the bad guy.

So once again, this show caught me off guard and, once again, I liked it. I also enjoyed all the team bonding and the second storyline involving Hetty and her re-gifting ways.

My favorite bits…

Thinking how cool it would be to actually go caroling.. until the gunshots went off and a bloody guy opened the door asking for help. Okay, on second though, maybe caroling isn’t as much fun as it sounds.

Callen calling Sam “Little Drummer Boy”. Ha!

Sam saying that having Deeks around made him feel like he was stuck babysitting some kid whose parents won’t come get him, ever.

Deeks admitting to a little bit of jealousy over Sam and Callen’s “man date”. LOL.

Everyone realizing that Hetty was a re-gifter. Well, aren’t we all at some point or another?

Loving Eric’s present from Hetty.. well technically I guess it was from Callen.

Kensi’s homegrown forensics methods, using red string and duct tape.

Totally not believing Callen when he told Sam he still had the steak knives he gave him.

My mind pausing for a minute to go “OMG! It’s Jonathan Frakes!” when I saw who was playing Talbot’s doctor.

Kensi looking up at the camera as if trying to decide whether or not to tell her story.

The break in Kensi’s voice when she said her fiancé described coming home to her as “hitting the ground”. Wow.

The looks Sam and Callen gave Deeks when he tried to pass off Kensi’s story as her playing with Talbot to get him to talk.

Sam telling Kensi that he knew what it was like to have someone you care about come back a different person. Wonder if he meant his wife.

Thinking that Deeks might have been over-selling it just a wee bit when he described the motel room as “a little slice of heaven”.

This bit:
Talbot: “So what do we do now?”
Kensi: “We do what most families do on Christmas Eve.”
Deeks: “Watch Uncle Bob get drunk and pee in a toaster?”

Sam running the play-by-play so that Eric could cut the cable at just the right moment in the game and get Sam and Callen inside as repair guys. So awesome.

Literally squeaking out loud when Talbot jumped Kensi. I knew he was suspicious of her on the phone, but I didn’t think he could move that fast.

This line from Kensi when she woke up – “I had a dream I was being visited by the three wise men.. and then I saw Deeks”. – LOL! I heart her so much.

Kensi threatening to Bengay Deeks’ shorts if he scratched her car. Ouch.

Thinking how sexy that red Camaro looked next to Sam’s black Challenger. What can I say? You know I loves me some sexy cars.

Callen pointing out to Kensi that no one else had figured out Talbot was faking, what made her so special? So cool of him.

Deeks’ “date” was as a volunteer, feeding the homeless.

Finding out what happened to that ridiculous sweater the team gave Hetty last year.

Nell’s cry of “Hettyyyy!” when they sped off. LOL.
