THE CLOSER “Old Money” Advance Review

THE CLOSER “Old Money” Season 6 Episode 11The Closer returns tonight with the first of several all-new episodes airing this December. I had a chance to take a look at tonight’s show, and it made me realize how much I miss The Closer when it’s gone. Without giving away any spoilers, let me tell what I can about “Old Money.”

The Closer ended its summer season with Brenda discovering she did not get the promotion to chief of police and with Pope’s job in question. Tonight’s show picks up shortly after the finale, and Tommy Delk (Courtney B. Vance) has taken over as chief. We don’t see him in “Old Money,” but Mary McDonnell returns as a surprisingly friendly Captain Sharon Raydor.

Shockingly, the case Major Crimes is investigating tonight is a brutal attack on one of their own detectives. After he’s ambushed on the street, Brenda and her team not only have to catch the person responsible, they have to clear witness-tampering charges against the detective. A bag of cash (aka “old money”) will help lead them to the criminal.

Tonight’s episode of The Closer is an awesome start to the winter season. As usual, the cast is a treat to watch, and there’s a graphic fight scene that you do NOT want to miss. Plus, there are some priceless scenes with Brenda and Captain Raydor that left me smiling (I find the two of them endlessly amusing). Overall, it’s a great start to The Closer‘s winter season, and I can’t wait to see the next episode.

So don’t forget, The Closer kicks off its winter season tonight at 9pm on TNT.
