Courtney Ford Joining TRUE BLOOD

Courtney Ford

Courtney Ford (Dexter) has snagged a recurring role in TRUE BLOOD‘s upcoming season.

Deadline reports that Ford will play blundering detective Andy’s (Chris Bauer) sister Portia Bellefleur, an attorney with her own practice. There are few details about the role, and while Portia is important to the Bill-Sookie relationship in Charlaine Harris’ Southern Vampire mysteries, that may very well not be the case on True Blood given creator Alan Ball’s willingness to deviate from the source material.

In addition to playing Christine Hill on Dexter, Ford has also recently appeared in Human Target, Grey’s Anatomy, NCIS, and The Vampire Diaries.

This bit of casting news comes soon after it was announced that Fiona Shaw would be joining the cast in the regular role of Marnie, the timid medium who falls under the control of a witch.

The twelve episode fourth season of True Blood will air on HBO next summer.
