Robert Knepper to Reprise His PRISON BREAK Role

It’s confirmed–T-Bag is coming back to TV. We told you a few weeks ago that producers of A&E’s new show Breakout Kings were wooing Robert Knepper to reprise his Prison Break role. Apparently they hammered out a deal because Knepper recently told Entertainment Weekly that T-Bag lives again.

“We’re done. We inked a deal. I’m gonna do it! T-Bag will live again!” Knepper told EW. “What I realized by saying yes to that is that now they’ll entertain the possibility of a T-Bag spinoff. Like a Hannibal Lecter-type series. Or a doll line. It’d be big with the kids!”

“I have to dust off the Southern accent. I have not seen a script. I am putting my faith in these guys’ hands. The only thing I asked was that T-Bag doesn’t die. And they said, ‘Oh, no don’t worry. He won’t.’ He came close many times but managed to cheat and escape death. He’s Teflon.”

Breakout Kings is a procedural about a team of US Marshals who work with a group of ex-cons to capture escaped fugitives. Former Prison Break producers Matt Olmstead and Nick Santora are behind the project. After FOX decided to pass on the series, it was picked up by A&E for 13 episodes. Breakout Kings will premiere in early 2011.

So what do you think of the return of T-Bag?
