Private Practice "In or Out" Review

PRIVATE PRACTICE “In or Out” Season 4 Episode 5 – In this episode Addison delivers a baby with a large tumor, which brings in an oncologist who disagrees with her treatment plan. The two argue over whether to go in surgically or try to reduce it with chemotherapy. Meanwhile at home, Addison is worried about her relationship with Sam because for once she’s with someone so perfect that she can’t see where things are going to go wrong.

Coop wants to talk babies but Charlotte’s not ready yet and keeps finding ways to stop the conversation, mostly using sex. But he keeps pushing, wanting to talk it out as an engaged couple should.

Violet interviews prisoners ready for parole and one of them asks her to lie and keep him in prison, the only home he’s known for 40 years. Knowing the man will have a hard time, she still does what’s right and then helps him acclimate to a world without bars. Pete has very personal reasons for not wanting her to get involved with people in the system.

Amelia has a problem that the girls think Sheldon can help her out with.

My favorite bits…

Violet suggesting that Sheldon might be the solution that Amelia needs to her little problem… and describing his. um.. assets.

Charlotte wisely taking Addison and Dr. Rodriguez away from the parents and baby in order to argue over the child’s treatment.

Amelia asking Charlotte if she would “recommend” Sheldon and Charlotte also describing his.. assets.

Addison and Charlotte telling Cooper to shut up in unison.

Coop telling Charlotte that she doesn’t fight fair because she either walks away or uses sex to get out of a conversation.

Finding myself really hoping that Violet’s plan to help Louis works as I don’t think she could handle another disappointment right now.

Dr. Rodriguez telling Addison to focus on the good, not the bad. I love that.

Sheldon telling Amelia he’d “think about it”. That is so NOT what a woman wants to hear.

Addison asking Sam to “be ugly” because she couldn’t think around all his sexiness. LOL.

Sam telling Addison he wasn’t perfect, just perfect for her. Aw, so sweet.

Coop playing with Lucas.

Violet telling Louis that it was okay to live.

Sheldon finally finding out why Amelia propositioned him.

Charlotte admitting all the reasons why she’s afraid to be a mother, in a real conversation.

Coop giving Charlotte permission to confuse him with sex.

Sheldon detailing exactly what would happen between he and Amelia and telling her to come see him when she grows up. Okay is it wrong that now *I* want Sheldon?

Pete admitting why he has such a problem with Violet working with prisoners.

Considering the controversy over last week’s episode of Private Practice, I have a feeling this episode may have some of its own. I was tempted to sidestep the issue but hey, this is my review so I’m just gonna come out and say it – I agree with Violet trying to help the prisoner. I too believe that some people can change and she was right to try.

There, I said it. 🙂

What did you think of the episode? Got any favorite bits or least favorite bits of your own? I’d love to hear from you!
