TOWER PREP (Cartoon Network) Review

Lots of exciting stuff happening tonight. The first one I would like to mention is Cartoon Network’s new original series, TOWER PREP. After falling in love with Cartoon Network’s other series, Unnatural History over the summer, I was really looking forward to jump on another one of their show.

Tower Prep turned out to be as much fun as I was hoping it would be. The series follows Ian Archer (Drew Van Acker), who wakes up one morning to find himself at a mysterious prep school. Unable to figure out how he got there and why he is there in the first place, Ian becomes friends with three other students, Gabe Forrest (Ryan Pinkston), CJ Ward (Elise Gatien) and Suki Sato (Dyana Liu), also trying to find answers.

We soon find out that all the students at the academy have something in common, they all have special abilities and are all being prepped for something, but what? It’s now up to Ian and his new friends to find answers.

The first episode “New Kid,” which premieres tonight, October 19, at 8pm, left me wanting for more. And while the premise might sound like something you have seen before, I thought it was very well executed and mixed things up a bit. While I won’t spoil the surprise and tell you exactly what the abilities are, I can tell you that I am now rooting for Ian and his gang to find a way out and am looking forward to finding out more about this suspicious academy. After only one episode Tower Prep has earned a season pass from me, and I’ll go as far as saying that it’s one of the best new shows this Fall along with Raising Hope on FOX and The Defenders on CBS.

So if you were a fan of Unnatural History or if you’re just looking for a new fun show to start watching, I urge you to check out Tower Prep tonight, October 19, at 8pm. In the meantime you can check out some clips and photos from Tower Prep here and you can read all our Tower Prep coverage here.
