Season Six of DOCTOR WHO Split in Two

The BBC and Steven Moffat recently announced that a major cliffhanger will happen during the upcoming season of Doctor Who. Season six will be split into two blocks, the first airing in spring 2011 and the second later that fall.

The split season is designed around a big plot twist that will happen at mid-season. Apparently, Moffat “plans to give viewers one of the most exciting Doctor Who cliffhangers and plot twists ever, leaving them waiting, on the edge of their seats, until the autumn to find out what happens.”

Steven Moffat went on to say, “The split series is hugely exciting because viewers will be treated to two premieres, two finales and more event episodes. For the kids it will never be more than a few months to the next Doctor Who! Easter, Autumn, Christmas!!”

For fans in the US, I’m afraid there’s no official word on when BBC America will air season six of Doctor Who.

So what do you think of this news? Anyone want to speculate on this game changing plot twist?
