CAMELOT adds James Purefoy

James Purefoy

James Purefoy, who garnered critical praise for his role of Marc Antony in HBO’s Rome is changing channels to Starz, The Hollywood Reporter reports that he has joined the cast of CAMELOT in the recurring role of King Lot (Gawain’s father), who is described as a “not very nice guy.”

Camelot is a retelling of the legend of King Arthur, and the series will begin with his birth. It stars Joseph Fienne as Merlin, Eva Green as Morgana, Jamie Campbell Bower as King Arthur, Tamsin Egerton as Guinivere, and Claire Forlani as Arthur’s mother, Queen Igraine.

The first season of Camelot will have ten episodes and is set to air on Starz in early 2011.
