Carol Burnett to be Sue’s Mom on GLEE August 5, 2010 Glee, News GLEE has cast comedy legend Carol Burnett as Sue Sylvester’s (Jane Lynch) mother, Entertainment Weekly reports. Though Sue hasn’t said much about her parents, she did refer to them as “Nazi hunters” in one episode. There aren’t many details of Burnett’s appearance, but it is expected to air in either October or November. Apparently Sue will only be getting a visit from mom since no one is being cast as her father. Burnett is rarely seen on television these days, though she is a six-time Emmy winner. She received an Emmy nomination for her role as a strip club owner and former Rockette in a 2009 episode of Law and Order: SVU and appeared on Desperate Housewives in 2006 as Bree’s deliciously evil stepmother. Last May, Burnett said she would love to appear on Glee. “I’d do whatever they wanted me to do, but I’d love to have a few scenes with Jane Lynch.” It sounds like this perfect casting was fate. Glee returns for its second season Tuesday September 21 at 8pm/7 central.
