Susan Sarandon Cast In THE MIRACULOUS YEAR

Susan Sarandon is joining HBO’s already star-studded Broadway-themed pilot, THE MIRACULOUS YEAR, in a recurring role. She will play Patty Atwood, the director and choreographer of the Broadway show-within-the-show that focuses on self-destructive Broadway composer (Tony Award Winner Norman Leo Butz) trying to balance a demanding new production and his equally demanding high-powered and dysfunctional family.

Executive producer and creator John Logan (a 2010 Tony Award winner for Red) wrote the pilot’s script and Oscar Winner Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker), who is also an executive producer, is directing. Production began yesterday in New York City. The impressive cast includes Hope Davis, Frank Langella, Patti LuPone, Linus Roache, Eddie Redmayne, Lee Pace, and Elaine Cassidy.

Sarandon has already had good luck in partnering with HBO. She earned an Emmy nomination for her role as Janet Wood in the HBO film, You Don’t Know Jack.
