SPARTACUS: GODS OF THE ARENA New Cast And Story Details

Spartacus: Gods of the Arena - Dustin Clare, Jaime Murray, Marisa Ramirez

The cast and storyline of the upcoming prequel series to Spartacus, entitled SPARTACUS: GODS OF THE ARENA has been set by premium television network Starz. The network has added three Australian actors to the cast with Dustin Clare cast in the lead role.

Joining Clare on the cast of the prequel series are Jaime Murray and Marisa Ramirez. The prequel will see the House of Batiatus struggling for social respect and a spot in championship bouts for its gladiators. Clare will play the role of Gannicus, the lead gladiator in the House of Batiatus who fights to change the House’s fortunes. Murray will play a social climber while Ramirez will be a slave girl in the series.

Spartacus lead actor Andy Whitfield will also make a brief appearance in the prequel.

Clare has previously appeared in TV series Underbelly and Satisfaction. Murray is best known for her work on Dexter as Lila, and Ramirez for her role on General Hospital as Gia and The Young and the Restless as Carmen Mesta. The prequel series will feature six episodes which begin production next month and will debut on television in January 2011.
