PSYCH “Romeo and Juliet and Juliet” Season 5 Premiere Review

The season 5 premiere of PSYCH returns tonight with a new episode titled “Romeo and Juliet and Juliet” and you are in for a treat as this one of the funniest Psych episodes yet.

In “Romeo and Juliet and Juliet”, Shawn and Gus start out the episode in a bit of a professional rut as business has been slow since Shawn’s dad started working as the consultant coordinator for the police. Also in a funk is Juliet who hasn’t really fully recuperated from last season’s breathtaking run-in with Ying.

The mystery of the day is the kidnapping of a powerful businessman’s daughter and the involvement of two chinese Triad Gangs. As a backdrop, you have Shawn still trying to workout his long held desire to try out Kung Fu or as he calls it Karate, lol.

The mystery just turns out to be a pretext to see Shawn go full on in hijinks mode as he tries out “Karate”, takes on some bad guys, coaxes an unwilling Juliet into getting back to work and does his best to ignore Gus’ sage but somewhat wacky insight (Look out for the part where Gus talks about Elvis).

I would be remise to not talk about one of the best guest star spots of the episode with the new/fired assistant of the Pysch office, Ken (played by Jerry Shea) who was pretty hilarious in his own right and actually jived well with the boys. I am not sure if he is coming back in future episodes but I really hope he is.

All and all this is a pretty awesome way to start the new season as the boys are back funnier than ever. So don’t miss the season premiere tonight at 10pm on USA. And once you see the episode, do come back and tell me what you thought by leaving a comment below.
