Oprah Winfrey TV Movie Coming Soon July 14, 2010 News Oprah Winfrey’s dominance of television is going to continue as a TV film depicting her life is reportedly in the works. With Winfrey having announced her planned retirement from daytime TV, the TV movie will be released after her retirement. Producer Larry A. Thompson has planned a two or four hour film adapted from Kitty Kelley’s tell-all biography about Winfrey. The film has already been optioned by Thompson, reportedly for six figures. The biopic will be aired in September of 2011, just as Winfrey’s daytime talk shows run comes to an end. Thompson has previously produced films about television stars such as Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, and Sonny and Cher. Thompson considers himself a huge fan of Oprah Winfrey and has been shopping the project around to several different networks. He would like to see an unknown cast in the role of Winfrey. Winfrey’s production company, Harpo Productions, declined to comment on the project.
