TOTAL DRAMA WORLD TOUR (Cartoon Network) Review

Total Drama World Tour (Cartoon Network)

One of my guilty pleasures, Cartoon Network’s Total Drama returns tonight, Monday June 21, with an all new season TOTAL DRAMA WORLD TOUR, at 9pm.

I found out about Total Drama, when one of my friends told me about Total Drama Island, which was pretty much Survivor reality show type as a cartoon, which I thought sounded fun. Then came Total Drama Action, which took the contestants on a movie set. And now the show is back as Total Drama World Tour with host Chris McLean flying the contestants all around the world. And what does the winner win? One million dollar!

But what I love about Total Drama World Tour and its predecessors is that you can make the contestants do so many more things that you couldn’t really do in real life (that’s the beauty of cartoons). So far I have seen the first two episodes of Total Drama World Tour and if you have been a fan of the show, I think you’ll find yourself right at home, with a few enhancements. For instance to spice things up a bit, this time during each leg of the race, the contestants will have to spontaneously break into a musical number (how crazy is that?!) and I can tell you that they aren’t all loving it.

As for the format, in each episode we will land in a new location with contestants having to get through challenges. And here’s the kicker, the person that gets eliminated has to take a high-altitude “Drop of Shame” by getting kicked out of the Total Drama Jumbo Jet mid-flight (but don’t worry, they are given a parachute). Come to think of it, how much fun would it be if we included that in a live reality TV show? I’m just saying.

Overall, Total Drama World Tour is just pure fun and a great way to relax. If you haven’t yet checked out the show, give it a shot, and if you’re already a fan, then make sure you tune in tonight, Monday June 21 at 9pm on Cartoon Network.
