Michael Weatherly Staying On NCIS

NCIS - Tony (Michael Weatherly)

The producers of NCIS have inked a new deal for Michael Weatherly that will keep him on the cast beyond the upcoming eighth season, according to Michael Ausiello. The details of Weatherly’s new deal were not released other than to state that it was a multi-year deal.

Weatherly has played the role of Anthony DiNozzo since the beginning of the CBS show. Weatherly was among several cast members whose contracts expired at the end of the seventh season. The show was originally a spinoff from “JAG” and follows the members of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. The group investigates criminal cases that involve the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps.

Weatherly is among four cast members who have negotiated new contracts with NCIS. Pauley Perrette, Rocky Carroll, and David McCallum have all signed new deals while Sean Murray remains in negotiations to extend his contract with the show. Both Mark Harmon and Cote de Pablo have contracts in place that attach them to the show through next season.
