“Weeds” star Elizabeth Perkins will be leaving her Emmy-nominated role on Weeds to pursue other projects. No other information about the series has been made public.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Perkins, who earned three Emmy and two Golden Globe nominations playing PTA mom Celia Hodes on the show, has been cast in the live-action/CGI flick “I Hop”, also starring James Marsden and Russell Brand. Perkins was cast as the mother to Marsden’s character Fred, a slacker with no job who is forced to take care of the Easter Bunny, voiced by Brand, after injuring him in an accident. “College Road Trip” and “Despicable Me” duo Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio wrote the screenplay. Tim Hill, with such animated credits as “Garfield: A Tale of Two Kitties” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks” under his belt, will direct.
