The Hollywood Reporter announced on Tuesday that former “Sleeper Cell” star Michael Ealy is set to join the hit Showtime series “Californication” next season. Ealy most recently appeared on the hit ABC series “FlashForward” and has also appeared in feature films such as “Seven Pounds” and “Barbershop“.

Ealy is set to appear in five episodes next season on “Californication” and will play the love interest of Natascha McElhone. In joining the cast of “Californication“, Ealy returns to Showtime where he was previously nominated for a Golden Globe for his role in “Sleeper Cell”.

The announcement that Ealy would be joining the cast was more big news for “Californication“, as the show also has plans to have Rob Lowe guest star during the fourth season. Lowe is expected to play an actor looking to play David Duchovny’s character in a movie. Duchovny has commented in interviews that his character, Hank Moody, will be digging himself out of the messes he got into last season during the show.
