THE SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP – A New HBO Film on Clinton and Blair

THE SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP is a new HBO movie that will air Saturday May 29 at 9:00 p.m. (ET/PT). The movie tells the tale of the relationship between Bill Clinton played by Dennis Quaid and Tony Blair played by Michael Sheen. The term “Special Relationship”, which was originally coined by Winston Churchill, refers to the privileged relationship that the United States and Great Britain have from a political, diplomatic, cultural and historical relations. The movie also stars Hope Davis and Helen McCrory; Davis plays Hillary Clinton and McCrory plays Cherie Blair.

According to the press release, THE SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP “takes a behind-the-scenes look at the unique and sometimes turbulent political relationship between newly-installed British Prime Minister Tony Blair (Sheen) and U.S. President Bill Clinton (Quaid) as the two dynamic leaders become co-stars on the world stage.”

To say that I am excited about this movie would be the understatement of century. I have to admit that I am a sucka for all things politics and am fascinated to see what this movie will reveal of those two personalities that changed the world in significant ways.

In the meantime, check out photos of THE SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP.
