HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER “Bagpipes” Review (Season 5 Episode 6)

What did you think of tonight’s episode of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, “Babpipes”?

I thought it was just okay and probably one of the weaker episodes of this season. The whole “bagpipes” thing was funny for a little while but it got old fast. The other elements of “Bagpipes” were good, but I’ve seen this show do much better. Don’t get me wrong though, there were some parts of ‘Bagpipes’ that I really enjoyed. I loved Marshall’s speech to Barney when he was basically saying he can do the perfect boyfriend thing in his sleep. He said something along the lines of “I can rub a foot with one hand and brew the perfect cup of chamomile tea with the other” that I thought was hilarious. I also enjoyed the scenario of how Barney would have approached the subject of dishes with Lily. Personally, I thought it was a little crazy of Lily to ask Marshall to wash the dishes right away. What did you think?

One of the things I love about the show is how Lily and Marshall are rock solid. With the other characters, you are never really sure what’s going to happen with them. At least with Marshall and Lily we know that even if they have a bad fight, they’ll still be together in future episodes. One of the best scenes was at the end when the two of them were celebrating being the perfect couple.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, we have Robin and Barney. I loved watching the methods they used to avoid fights. Robin’s tactic might actually work, but I wasn’t buying Barney’s. If you walk out on a woman right before a fight is about to begin, you will only end up making her angrier. I hope the fact that they have been fighting a lot doesn’t foreshadow the end to Barney and Robin.

Lastly, I think it’s time we get a new love interest for Ted. With everyone else paired up, I’m beginning to feel bad for him. Maybe the next episode will have something good for him. Talk to you next week!
