GLEE “Vitamin D” Review Episode 6

glee vitamin d (2)

This episode of Glee “Vitamin D” got a little serious with Finn and Quinn each struggling with their impending parenthood on top of all the normal teenage pressures like school and sports. They’re basically good kids though and I don’t think they would have turned to pills if it wasn’t for the evil influence of Terri.

We also saw Will and Emma struggling with their mutual attraction. How cute are those two together? Seeing them together just makes it painful to watch Emma and Ken and their sad little engagement.

Of course, since Glee is basically a soap opera with singing, it didn’t stay serious for long. Fake pregnancies, baby swapping, husband stealing, an old lady falling down the stairs – it’s crazy, but soooooo entertaining. I’m so over Terri and all her fake pregnancy drama, but I’m trying to just go with it. Now that she’s messed up the one thing Will really had going for him, maybe he’ll see her for who she really is. He seemed to realize it at the end when he said, “Every time I light a fire in my life, you find a way to burn the forest down.”

So who do you think won the mashup contest, the boys or the girls? The girls’ version of “Halo” and “Walking on Sunshine” was cute and girly but had way too much hair flipping. I have to give it to the boys because their Bon Jovi/Usher mashup was genius. Finn is a really great singer but his dancing was just bad. Let’s hope Finn’s spastic moves were due to being hopped up on the “Vitamin D.”

As usual, everything that comes out of Jane Lynch’s mouth makes me laugh. “Scab-eating mouth breathers” is my new favorite insult. She had so many good quotes tonight, but here are a few of my favorites:

“…only to be shanghaied by the bicurious machinations of a cabal of doughy misshapen teens.”

“Your husband is hiding his kielbasa in a Hickory Farms Gift Basket that doesn’t belong to you.”

“I always thought the desire to procreate showed deep personal weakness.”

Sue declared war on Will and his home permed hair and she ended up winning and becoming the new co-director of the glee club. It looks like they will continue their battle next week and it should be fun to watch!
